SharePoint 2016 IT Preview is out and can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48712
Installation is done on the following platform.
Operating System Windows Server 2012 R2
Database MS SQL Server 2014
Processor 64bit 4 cores
Memory 16 GB

After installing the pre-requisites as described on the above link, start the setup for installing SharePoint 2016 IT Preview
In the installation steps, the first screen will prompt for Product Key, for IT Preview installation, use the following key.
Click on Install Now button on the above screen, installation will continue for some minutes.
After the installation is complete, setup will ask for Configuration wizard to start.
Configuration Wizard will start and after the welcome screen, Wizard will display the list of service that will be stopped or restarted during the configuration.
on the next screen, select from the option to connect to an existing farm or to create new server farm.
Database details will follow next. Wizard will ask for DB Server, DB Username and Password. Remember while providing the User that it should have a minimum of DB Creator rights to complete the configuration.
For Security purpose, wizard setup will as for the Passphrase on the next screen.
Next screen will display the options for server roles. SharePoint 2016 has six server roles defined.
Front-end
Application
Distributed Cache
Search
Custom
Single-Server Farm
For single server farm select the last option. If farm is mean to be extended then select the appropriate option from the rest of five like Application of Front-End.
On next screen an option is given for the Central Administration port and authentication provider.
Click Next and Configuration wizard will display all the settings gathered in the previous steps for an overview.
Process will start to configure SharePoint 2016 IT Preview. as Soon as configuration will complete, and you click Finish button on the last screen, it will open the Central Administration in browser for settings related to Service Applications.
Once finished settings Central Administration Home will be displayed and you can go for an overview of SharePoint 2016.
